Hi I’m Charis, and this will be my first year joining the Wonder School team as the Literacy Preschool Teacher! My twin boys (Cedar + Sur) both attended Wonderschool, and now my twin girly-pops (Raglan + Scout) will be joining this year as well. I’m thrilled to spread my love of reading, handwork, story-telling, and music to your kiddos. 

I grew up on the East Coast, but my heart belongs on the West Coast where I met my husband of 8 years whom I share with our twin boys and twin girls. I’m in love with these early years of child development — the curiosity, the wonder, the enthusiasm for everything besides onions, and the joy that children embody in this time is something that I love to foster and encourage. I’m often reminded of this quote from ‘The Office’ where Andy says “I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days, before you've actually left them” — these early years with my children, even though they can be so (SO!) hard, are going to be something that I will miss.

Since Idaho sadly doesn’t have waves (and please don’t call the river a wave ya’ll), you will find me and my family enjoying all things outdoors. Whether that’s picking wildflowers, skiing Bogus, running in the foothills, biking, and collecting acorns and every shiny rock. I’m a graphic designer who hates being on the computer, and I’m an artist who dabbles in every kind of medium.  I love brewing up a new coffee (preferably some co-ferment bean) to watch it get cold on the counter. I love getting cozy in the winter and binge reading sci-fi books and cookbooks, baking date scones, and if I could design my dream home I would have a disco ball that would descend from the living room ceiling.
